4Life Children's Triathlon
On Saturday 4th August 4Life's Children's Open Water Triathlon will be taking place at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham - more details to follow.
Club Weekend Away If you are free for the weekend of 14/15 July come and join us for the THE BLACK SHEEP RIPON TRIATHLON 2012
(1.5km SWIM, 40km BIKE, 10km RUN)at Ripon Race Course. There's camping, caravanning, camper vanning throughout the weekend, plus lots going on for any family members not racing. It's filling up quickly though so don't leave it too late! Click here |

2012 East Midlands Region Adult Race Series
To enter for the 2012 East Midlands Adult Series you must be a current member of Triathlon England and you must either live within an East Midlands county (Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire or Rutlands) or be a current member of an East Midlands registered club! Saturday Turbo Training
Starts again Saturday 21st January, 8.15-9.15am at East Leake Leisure Centre. Bring your own bike and turbo trainer or contact Dave on the forum if you need to borrow a club turbo. £1 per session. Swim first at 7am and circuits afterwards at 9.30am!
Friday Night Swimming
Coached swim sessions have started again at East Leake, 7.30-8.30pm - 15+. £2 per session. And don't forget Wednesday's coached swim session from 8-9pm |

Other sports - Love watching Cricket, Tennis, Rugby, Football (ex Birmingham District Schoolboy Representative)– Favourite sports personality - When growing up it was Duncan Goodhew and Ian Botham now I admire so many I couldn't choose? Ideal training partner - my wife Jenni. Likes – getting out in the country by bike/walking/running, history and language.
Sam Chapman – Session coach.
Sport related qualifications - British Cycling Level II coach, Triathlon coach Level I (Studying level II). Occupation/works as – Learning mentor at a Primary School. Triathlete since – 2000.
Has raced – mainly sprints, but training for first olympic distance this year. Prefers OW events. Other sports – Adventure racing. Favourite sports personality - Steve Redgrave. Ideal training partner – Anyone that doesnt take it too seriously and can have a good chin wag with but still focus on the session (Anne Howick).Likes - Trail running,club relays,cinema.
John Machin– Session coach.
Sport related qualifications - Level I triathlon coach (Studying level II). Occupation/works as – Freelance Health Inspector.
Triathlete since – 1999.
Has raced – Sprints & Olympic distances.
Prefers Olympic races probably, if I think back.
Other sports – I'll have a go at most sports. I do a bit of skiing now and again. I use to do sea boat rowing before moving to down here. But footy was the thing I was best at when I was a whipper snapper.
Favourite sports personality - I think Lance Armstrong is an inspiration, but I'd probably say that Brian Clough takes some beating for his 'personality'.
. Ideal training partner – Someone who can run, swim and cycle a fraction quicker than me!

Triathlete since – 1988.
Has raced – Sprints & Olympic distances and ½ IM and has achieved medals in triathlon and duathlon at National, European and World level including four world gold medals
Prefers Running: 10k 27mins, half marathon 1:24, Marathon 3:04.
Other sports – Former horse trainer and BHS instructor, gym instructor and personal trainer.
Favourite sports personality - I would look up to anyone at any level who has achieved their goal regardless of adversity, and who puts their learning back into the sport. Ideal training partner – Anyone dedicated who enyoys training.
Likes Gardening, Nature and drawing.

Has raced – mainly sprints, but training for first olympic distance this year.
Other sports – No other sports. But I enjoy going to the gym.
Favourite sports personality - Jenson Button. He's also a triathlete y'know?
Ideal training partner – Maybe my brother. One of these days I'll beat him!
