Liz Kearney built on her Turkey Trot form with a fast 15 mile road race time of 2 hours and 8 minutes at the Folksworth 15. The course takes in some great scenery around the Peterborough area, it is a testing route that takes in one fairly steep hill at about 7 mile and again just before the finish.
Dean Hughes continued his preparation for the London Marathon with an impressive 2 hours 53 seconds in the Stamford 30km road race last month. The Stamford Striders St Valentines 30k was once again a great race with over 550 runners competing and Dean finished a creditable 26th to follow up his 16th at the Turkey Trot. |

David Ohren perpetuated his speed work by setting another personal best in the Centurion 5 mile road race series in Birmingham finally getting under 36 minutes at the fifth attempt.
His daughter, Katie, ran her heart out in appalling weather to achieve a respectable 2km time of 11min 30 sec. Dave and Dean have entered the UK Ironman Triathlon (3.8km swim, 180km cycle, 42.2km run) at Sherbourne, Dorset in August along with fellow 4Life triathletes Richard Moyle and Ian Howick.
In the run up to the start of the season many of the junior members have been competing in various cross country races. After qualifying to represent Nottinghamshire in January, Alex Chapman, Grace Hobbs and Sophie Coldwell went on to compete in the Inter-Counties at Wollaton Park on 24 February, all finished to gain their first county stripe in horrendous conditions with many athletes losing shoes in . |

the mud! Alex, Grace, Sophie and Charlie Howick also qualified to represent Rushcliffe in the Nottinghamshire Schools Cross Country at Berry Hill with Grace being the first Rushcliffe girl home in her class.
With Thursday evening training back at Keyworth Leisure Centre all club members are honing their skills ready for the start of the racing season which kicks off with an aquathlon (continuous swim and run) at East Leake on 18 March.
Richard Moyle competed hard at the Clumber Park Duathlon (10km run, 40km bike, 5km run) on 10th March and was rewarded with a competitive time of 2 hours 12 mins.4Life Tri Club is a family orientated triathlon club whose adult section meet formally every Tuesday at East Leake 7.15pm for mixed ability coached running and 8pm for coached swimming. The junior section train at Keyworth Leisure centre on a Thursday evening at 6.15pm running and 7.15pm for swimming. All coaches are British Triathlon approved.
